Synopsis:
Berta, a 34 year old woman, fed up with being battered by her husband Antonio, of about 38, decides to leave her place. Antonio, in a search for a substitute, hires a company that claims to supply “Human-looking automatic devices”, providing him with a nearly perfect replica of his wife. The android doesn’t fully satisfy Antonio, so he decides to take her back. The device company convinces Antonio to keep the device, as they would make her look more real.

For three months, he travels throughout the "Ruta de la Sal," exchanging salt for other Andes products, reluctantly bearing witness to an animal sacrifice in the snow-covered peaks and interacting with the indigenous cultures seemingly untouched by modernity.
